Happy Day...a few days early!

We cheated today, and put Addison in her new, big girl car seat. Her birthday isn't until Saturday, but Addison is a big girl - she definitely weighs enough, and is so tall that her feet have been hanging off the edge of the other seat for a long time now. It was almost like you had to fold her up to put her in it.

She was so excited to be facing forward, and to be able to look out the window. She kicked her feet, and smiled the whole way.

I have to admit that I got a little teary-eyed as I boxed up the other car seat. Addison is so big, and the time went by so quickly. It's wonderful that she is growing and reaching new milestones; it's just hard to say good-bye to my sweet, little baby!

Stepper...

Addison has started taking little steps. She first started on March 16th, with two steps, and has gotten braver each day. Her record so far, has been 8 steps. I don't know if it was a coincidence or not, but she started taking steps right after we got the shoes!

This video was taken on March 18th. What a funny little bug! She's growing so fast!!

Little Leprechaun...

Happy St. Patrick's Day...(a day late!)

We hope you all had a fabulous GREEN day! We sure did! I can't get enough of my little leprechaun! She was especially cute yesterday!

Addison found a new toy yesterday...the doorstop! It kept her entertained, and laughing for about 30 minutes. If you've spent any time with Addison, you know that keeping her attention for even 2 minutes is a miracle. It was fun to watch her so captivated!

EBay = Trouble!

Addison does not like shoes. I can't blame her really, because her feet are so chubby that in order to wear shoes, her feet have to be crammed in there so tightly. I have tried several times to somehow morph her feet, and make the shoes work, but they don't. Baby shoes are SO expensive that I really haven't worried much about her not wearing them anyway.

Addison would be walking if she didn't stand directly on her tip-toes every time she stood up. Travis is glad because he says she'll make a great track star someday. I'm okay with the fact that she's not walking yet..she's enough trouble as a crawler! However, my sister suggested that I try shoes again in an effort to get her off of her toes. She mentioned that her son used little leather soled shoes, that are more like slippers, when he was a baby, and they worked well for him.

I did some searching on the Internet for the above said shoes, and they are normally priced around $50...$50 for baby shoes..yeah right! So, I ventured on to EBay, and much to my delight, found several varieties with auctions starting at around $15. There were lots of bids on the shoes, and so I thought I would be wise to bid on several pairs to ensure that I got at least one of them. About a day later, I logged on again to check on my bidding status. To my surprise, shock, and eventual horror, I saw four different notices, that each said, "Congratulations, ngines801, you have won this item!" Needless to say, I spent much more than $50, on baby shoes, but have four cute pairs to show off!

It's Coming...

I can barely contain my excitement! I just checked on FedEx.com, and my blog book will be delivered on Thursday! Wahoo!!

If you haven't made a blog book yet, do! Go to blurb.com. It's easy, and well...I won't say quick because I spent countless hours on mine..but it's so worth it!

Pictures that somehow didn't get used...

I take A LOT of pictures! Especially now that I have my AWESOME camera (thanks again, Trav). Because I take so many, some of the pictures never make it to the blog, and so unfortunately, don't make the blog book, unless I do a post like this...

Addison has been standing up in her crib for a long time. One of her favorite things to do is grab onto the side of the crib, and rock back and forth. She shakes so hard that it feels like the house is going to collapse.
Ethan was using Janelle's scarf as a headwrap. Cute, silly Boy!
Lovely, I know! I was talking to my sister Alyssa, and my other sister, Janelle went on a photo rampage with my camera..I was just slightly annoyed! More evidence of the photo rampage (Thanks, Bert!)
We LOVE JoJo and Poppy! Thanks for loving Addison as much as you do!
Addison has lots of hair, and it's starting to curl in the back. I have tried several cute do's, but she just pulls them out. Urgh!
This is up at Maddox Restaurant on the way up to Lava Hot Springs
We have been going to Lava Hot Springs as a family since long before I was born. For some reason, we never take many pictures. I tried to take some this time, but didn't really succeed. Here are few of the ones I got.

We had a Wii Tournament
Travis was the boxing champ..Big Surprise!
Cute Kids..Addison and Caden
Sweet baby JaKobe
Watchin' the tube. Addison loves the Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney in the mornings.
The Royal Mess Maker
My BIG, little girl! We tried shoes..again, without much success..but she's sure cute!

28 years...and 11 months!

Today is Trav's 28th birthday. Unfortunately, he's just starting his 8-straight days of work, and so it won't be much of a celebration until next week.

Trav's mom, and sisters do a tribute post to the people in our family on their birthdays. Katie was saying that it would be harder to post about Trav on his, and was thinking weeks ago about what she was going to say. I sort of feel the same way. I know that sounds funny because Trav is my husband, and it should be easy to come up with something wonderful to say about him on his birthday..but really, the trouble I'm having is trying to narrow down all of the wonderful-ness into one post that isn't too sappy for others to read.

Travis is fun! He always makes me laugh, no matter the situation, and even in times when laughing is not appropriate (ie. church). I have been told so many times that I have two kids to raise because Travis is just a grown up little boy. It's true. Travis loves to play, and have fun. He teases people all of the time, sometimes way beyond the limit, but really just wants people to laugh, and have fun. Although there have been times when I would prefer the 'grown up' version of Travis, we really do have lots of fun together, and he keeps me from becoming too serious about life.
Travis is a hard worker. Trav worked his way through nursing school (with a little assistance from his editor in chief - that's me). School has never come easily to Travis, and I was so proud when I learned he passed his NCLEX exam with flying colors. He studied for months, and dedicated himself to the cause so intently, that the X-Box sat untouched, covered with dust - a true miracle! Even now that he's done with school, the hard work continues. He supports our family, and does it well. He never complains about having to work so hard for us - he just does it. He's good at his job, and is constantly receiving positive patient comment cards about his service, and friendly smile. I'm grateful he works so hard, and sacrifices so much to provide for us!

Travis is a really good daddy! Travis scoops Addison up in his arms right when he wakes up, and holds her right up until he has to go to work. When he isn't holding her, they are playing together. I love to see them together. Addison loves her daddy, and will only fall asleep in his arms. Travis is good at feeding Addison her dinner, and will change her into her jammies, if I'm lucky, he'll even change a few diapers - but mostly he just loves to have her in his arms!
I'm really glad that Travis is my husband. Although sometimes things are rough with crazy schedules and petty disagreements - the majority of our time together is wonderful! I love him, and I am happy he chose me!
Happy Birthday, Travis!

Addison is 11 months old today. I can't believe that it's almost been a year since our sweet baby girl was born. She has changed so much, so quickly over the months. It has been fun watching her grow.

Addison is in the process of cutting 5 teeth at once. Four on the top, and one on the bottom. Unfortunately for her, and for us, this hasn't been a very pleasant experience. She's a a little cranky bum, but I can't say that I blame her!

Addison is more and more like her dad everyday. She is so stubborn. Lately, if she doesn't get what she wants, she screams loudly. She's really testing my patience, and keeping me busy.

Addi's into EVERYTHING. She's an explorer, and is always looking for new, exciting things to play with. She's on her feet more and more everyday. She mastered scooting down the stairs on her belly, and is up and down them more times that I can count.

Addison still loves to eat. I am anxious to see how much she loves her very own birthday cake next month. She is still nursing morning, and night, but is losing interest quickly. She doesn't really like juice, but has learned to sip her daddy's soda out of a straw. Her new favorite treat are the Gerber cheese puffs. They are little Cheetos for babies, and she gobbles them up!

Addison is my favorite little gal! She' so fun, and makes me so happy! I'm happy to spend my days with her, and I'm looking forward to the next year of her life!
