Silly Sayings...

Addison took just a bit longer than most kids to speak up, but once she did, there was no stopping her. She learned quickly, and will say anything, and everything now.

Here are a few of my recent favorites:

- The other morning just after waking up and changing her night time diaper, she came over to me, gave me a hug and said, "Mommy, you're my favorite friend!"

-We were driving somewhere in the car, and she asked me where we were going. I told her, and she responded with, "Oh shucks!"

-Addison has a mind of her own, and is a bit of a bully. Thankfully though, she always tells the truth about what she has done, like, "I pushed Gage.", or "I broke slide.", or "I made mess." She is also programmed to say "I sorry." after each incident. It's pretty cute, and usually solves the problem.

-The other day I told her that she needed to finish her lunch, and she said, "Probably not, Mommy"

-She occasionally will look at me, or at her dolls, and says, "You need a time out, okay?" or "No, that's naughty."

-Whenever she sees my bra, she shakes her chest and says, "Boobies, Boobies!"

-You need to have an extensive knowledge of Mickey Mouse episodes to carry on a conversation with Addison. Out of the blue, and several days after she has watched an episode, she will mention things that happened, and want to talk about them, as if they are real life..."Mommy, Daisy lost her sheep. We need to find them.", "We need to move the frog, Mom. We need a Mouse-ka-tool.", "Pluto's ball went so far away. We need a rocket to get it."

-In the tub we have foam letters. She will hold up a letter, and sing the 'Letter Factory' song, which identifies the letter, and the sound it makes. It's impressive! She's too smart for her own good!

Picnic at the Park

Last week, we took advantage of the warmer weather, having Grandma at home (still recovering from back/neck surgery), and Ethan and Madi's day off and went to the park for a picnic.

This picture is really bad, but a nice lady at the park offered to take it, and all of us are in it, which never happens. Thanks, nice lady!

It's amazing what a year will do for your kid's ability to play at the park. Addison is a pro, and can climb all of the stair and go down slides, all by herself. She gets too brave sometimes, and makes me worry, but she LOVES to be outside and play!

Here's a few shots of the kiddos. What a fun time!

Happy, Happy Weekend!

Warning...long post ahead!!

This weekend was full of celebrations. It was sure fun...and exhausting! Today my sweet, funny, darling, one-of-a-kind Addison turned two. When I asked her this morning how old she was, she said, "Um, five minutes." It really feels that way to me. I can't believe how fast she grew, and how much she has changed.

Because we have partied all weekend, Addison was beyond exhausted tonight. Fortunately for me, it was the 'sweet, I want to cuddle kind of tired' instead of 'throw an angry fit tired', and I got to rock her to sleep. As I held her in my arms, I couldn't help be feel so blessed to be her momma. She is so great, and I am so lucky that she's mine! I really don't have the words to describe how I feel, other than blessed and lucky! I love Addison so much, and I am happy that she is growing, and I am loving every minute of it..mostly!

We celebrated Addi's birthday with the Gines on Friday. We had a Mickey Mouse party complete with Mickey Ears, and Hot Dogs Hot Dogs Hot Diggity Dogs for dinner. Addison picked out a Mickey birthday cake that she talked about for weeks, and didn't even taste - the kid really doesn't like sugar! We had such a fun time, and Addi got so many fun things including a play kitchen that she loves, and an apron and chef's hat, pots and pans, a baby stroller, and a fun book. Thanks to all that were there!

Today, we woke up to see what the Easter Bunny brought, and then had a nice breakfast with hard-boiled eggs, cinnamon rolls, and orange slices.

After morning conference, we headed to Jo Jo's for a lunch, and a fun egg hunt.

Cousin Ethan and Addi have birthdays three days apart. Late this afternoon, we went to up to the Grandpa's house, and had a big party for both of them. Once again, we had yummy food, and lots of fun presents, but this time Addi actually ate some birthday cake!
