Addi at 3.5

It's time for an Addison update! The last few months, Addison has made huge positive strides. Addi used to be hard to get along with and very volatile. She struggled for a long time with the idea of having a baby sister. Now, Addison is so sweet. She is almost sickening sweet! She asks for kisses and hugs more times than I can count each day, and loves her sister to the moon! Addi is so positive, and such a great helper. I'm proud of her and the choices she has made to be sweet and kind each day!

Addison loves to do her own hair and is quite picky about how she looks each day. In this picture, she had just gotten out of the tub, and came out of the bathroom looking so lovely!

Addi has a silly sense of humor and loves to tell jokes and make people laugh. She always pulls faces and thinks she is the funniest girl ever!

Since I can remember, Addison has had several funny quirks. She loves to line things up. She is very particular about how things are including her food and her toys. Unfortunately, this craziness even manifests in her clothes. She can only wear certain clothes that aren't too tight and don't "tease" her. She struggles and fights until we get it just right. We have to twist, and pull so they aren't too tight or the stripes match or the pants are sitting just right on her hips. She almost refuses to wear socks, and if she does, they are usually inside out because the seam on her toes drives her crazy. She won't wear jeans, and has a hard time with things that aren't loose. She also struggles with the carseat. The straps just can't be loose enough for her. I try to tell her that they have to be tight in order to be safe, but every ride in the car is a struggle. During her "episodes" I have to remind Addi to take long, deep breaths otherwise I'm afraid she'll pass out. If you let her do her own thing, her own way, most of the time we don't have issues, but if it something out of the ordinary, look out!

Addison is smart. She's learned to write her name, knows all her letters, and the sounds they make. She's working on numbers and can count to 20 - she always missing 18, though! Addison knows her colors and shapes, and is working on patterns. Addison has the best preschool tutor - Aunt Berta - and is lucky to get one-on-one time with her three times a week. The other day I picked her up and on the way home, she pointed out different types of trees - Evergreen, and Deciduous. She told me the difference between the two and that she liked the colors of the deciduous better than the evergreen.

I'm amazed everyday by the things Addison knows and what she says. I'm constantly laughing with her, and can't seem to get enough of her. Lately, the funniest thing she constantly says is, "Mom, I 'actually-gently', (accidentally) did this or did that." She also says, "That certainly is funny." or "I certainly would like Cherrios for breakfast."

I love this sweet little lady, and I'm so glad that she's mine!
