Lake Tahoe
The first part of June, we took a road trip. We left on a Thursday afternoon, and drove to Reno, NV. We stayed the night at the Harrah's Casino. The girls were excited to stay in a hotel. We made it extra special by ordering room service. Addison and Hailey shared a stack of pancacakes. I was worried that we didn't order enough food, but when they arrived, they were huge! Addison ate every single bite...and I was shocked!
After breakfast, we had planned on going swimming, but the pool was freezing and in the shade, so we decied to pass. Instead, we just got ready and decided to head out to our destination...Lake Tahoe!
We got to the hotel, checked in, and then headed out on a nature hike. Addison found huge pinecones - and of course, under the direction of Travis placed them in just the right spot.
Later, the rest of the family arrived, and we hung out in the hotel and laughed together.
The next day we headed out on another hike with the whole family. It was chillier than we had hoped it would be because of the wind, but we still had fun!
Unfortunately, this was the best family picture that we got...
Lake Tahoe is on the border of California and Nevada. Addi thought it was cool that we were in two states at one time.
I LOVE this picture!
Later, we headed to the beach. Travis was dead set on building a sand castle, and we dug and dug, because every good castle has a great moat. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the finished product.
We had an awesome bike ride along the trails by the lake. I'll have to add the pictures from Kelli as I get them. It was so much fun, and great exercise. Travis pulled our girls in the trailer, and I was grateful! I had a carefree, fun ride! The bike seats were so cozy, they called them the loveseats. If I had a bike like that here, I'd ride a lot!
Our trip was a blast! We loved hanging out and taking it easy, and it was a nice to get away!
The last day we rented paddle boats, and cruised around for a bit before we headed home. The girls loved it! Hailey actually fell asleep!
