Mountains of Fun!

Trav's new job allows him to work four 10-hour shifts. His day off is Monday. We decided that we wanted to make Mondays extra fun days! We started this week by taking a day trip up to the Uinta Mountains. It's only about an hour drive from here if you go through Park City, and Kamas. Travis calls it "Heaven on Earth", and says, "There's No Place, I'd Rather Be." It really is beautiful.

We first stopped for a bite to eat at what used to be Dick's Drive-In, in Kamas. It's now called the Uinta Drive-In, regardless of their name, they still have really great food! I failed to get a picture, mostly because I was starving!

We drove for a bit, and decided to stop at this beautiful lake.

Travis let go of Addi's hand for one second, and she went right into the lake. She's not afraid of anything, and always loves exploring new things. She was in heaven up there too, just like her Daddy!

After we sufficiently explored the lake, we got back in the Jeep, and drove to find another beautiful spot.

We came to a point on the bumpy, dirt road, where we couldn't go any further. There was a giant log blocking the path. I told Trav that it was too bad that we had to turn around, and he said, that a silly log wasn't going to stop us, so he got out and moved it...HERCULES!

We drove a bit more, and found another gorgeous lake. We all had fun enjoying nature, and each other..even Eddie!

On Friday, we met Poppy and Jo Jo up at the 'B' for a fun Friday drive in the mountains. Jo Jo was brave, and rode the 4-Wheeler. Poppy rode his dirt bike, and we rode in the Jeep. It was a beautiful day, and we had lots of fun!

Hopefully, one of these days, we'll break Addi of her binki habit! But for now, it keeps her quiet, and she's still pretty cute!

We drove all the way to the top, and looked over on Morgan. Because of all of the rain we've had, the sky was clear, and beautiful! Addison loved it at the top. The wind was blowing a bit, and she clapped her hands and danced in the breeze.

I miss the Uintas!!!! There is nothing here that can compare to the mountains in UT, just alien bugs and humidity for us ;) You were able to catch some great pics! My family has a favorite spot called Notch lake - it's a day hike but so worth it! I miss doing those things this time of year, lucky you :)

That looks like so much fun! I'm really jealous that you guys can just jump in the car and find such beautiful places so close! And your Addi keeps getting cute and cuter!!!

Looks like you had fun. We love the Uintas, Tom's family has a cabin up there and so we used to go every few weeks in the summer....Tom's missing it. But we just found out we are coming out in August for two weeks for family reunions. We'll have to get together and let the girls play!

It was a fun ride and I got braver as I went. Addi is going to be a real hiker like her Dad. She loves to walk by herself, no hand holding for that little girl. Thanks for going with us.

It sounds like you've had some really enjoyable days! What a great idea to make Travis' day off a special day. James and I need to do things like that more often. And I think Addi is more gorgeous every time I see new pics of her!
